Why Do We Call It the Pantarei Approach?

Pantarei or ‘Panta Rhei’ is ancient Greek and means ‘everything flows’. The term is known as part of the philosophy of Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher of the late 6th century BC. He said “no man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”

We Are in Constant Motion

When we looked for a name for our Approach, we could so easily relate to the meaning behind Heraclitus’ philosophy. We as human beings change constantly. We can only meet the person in front of us in the ‘now’ and join them in their own process of flow and change. It is still the same person, just as it will always be the same river, but in every moment in time we can notice the changes within us, that create the changes around us.

In the Pantarei Approach, we believe that every person is born with their own wisdom; to know what is good for them and what they want in order to have a fulfilled life. In other words, we are very well equipped to adapt to changes and at being able to change, according to our own circumstances. We can manage at overcoming obstacles in life. Our ability to trust ourselves, to change, learn and adapt allows us not only to survive, but to live our own life according to our own unique individuality. At the same time, we are connected to the universe and are a part of the overall flow of life.

To Be in Flow Is to Be Connected

There are times in our life when we clearly feel that we are in flow – with ourselves, with our surroundings, with what happens to us and the way we are able to deal with it. As humans, we have the need to be connected, to be in touch – even if we love to have our moments of solitude. We become depressed when we are too isolated and not a part of the world.

To us the sensation of being in flow also means to be connected and to be part of the world. Every session that a practitioner conducts with their clients of the Pantarei Approach should lead to more connection of the person with themselves, with their surroundings and with their lives. Our ability to change and our experiences of being in flow, become constants that we can rely on and build on – using them in our daily life to swim with the flow around us.

Flow is Life

Being connected to this flow allows contradictions to settle together, for ideas to find their place and for different parts to unite. Flow is life and therefore gives meaning to anything and everything we do, as small or as big as it might be.

Through the Pantarei Approach, we wish to offer people a unique learning environment that allows them to connect to themselves and their own ability to change; to learn to live and lead their life in the way they wish to. Being aware of ourselves and finding strength in who we are and our own personal development, allows us to pay attention to our surroundings and the greater flow of life that we are all a part of. The Pantarei Approach wishes not only to support every single person on their path, but to encourage all, that we can walk our individual ways in harmony with our surroundings. Becoming part of the flow of life, both alone and together makes the world a better place.
