Word of Mouth is a Powerful Promotional Resource

As Pantarei Practitioners it is so easy to love our profession.  It is a profession based on celebrating humanity, and each of our unique qualities. We can confidently say that so far, everyone that has come to learn with us, shares a love of humanity. They share the wish to do something meaningful, and to contribute to the world in the best possible way.  Every one of the 6 modules of our training program is an empowering experience and a learning process of its own. But beyond the personal growth that forms part of the training experience, it is a profession in its own right. And just like for any other career, we need to create a business structure that can hold our business for many years to come. Word of mouth is a powerful promotional resource, and worth highlighting.

It Alwasys Leaves an Impact

We, Claudia and Vered, co-founders and teachers of the Pantarei Approach, are not experts in business coaching or consulting. However, we both have over 25 years of experience working as practitioners. When we think about what has always worked for us in regard to promotion (even before the advent of modern technology) we can’t ignore the fact that word of mouth is one of the most powerful promotional resources out there.  You can read many articles about it and about the importance it has in creating a marketing strategy.

Who Can Recommend You?

We, practitioners, are the business. We are also our best “business card”. Furthermore, our clients are the ones who make our business grow. Every satisfied client can open many doors to new audiences, new projects, and new directions that we may otherwise not be aware of.

It is not only our clients that can recommend us. It might be our friends, people who know us and have heard us talking excitedly about what we do, people who trust us, and those who would be happy to see us succeed.

Since the start, our profession has grown through recommendations. You will probably find many ways to add to this, many more promotional paths and strategies to follow, but one way or another, the people that came to sessions with us, were happy and recommended us to others. To this day, these clients are our best promoters. Whether you have internet access or not, whether you live in a big city or in a small village, whether you have a captivating website, or not even a business card, let your work speak for itself.

Each of us Promotes in Our Own Unique Way

The Pantarei Approach is based on embracing uniqueness. We think that the way we promote our business is also unique. It depends on our life, on who we are, on what feels most natural for us, on who our audience is, on how we like to communicate. Some of us like to talk and engage in social meetings, while others prefer to write; some like to invest in graphics, while others prefer to invite people to try out a session. Some swim in the water of social media while others prefer not to be there at all.

Word of mouth as one of the most powerful promotional resources, is also the one that is always available. We also believe that it is a very powerful selling point. Who wouldn’t trust a good friend telling them to go and see xxx for a session; that xxx helped them so much? Word of mouth is something that spreads fast. It goes beyond geographical borders or social status. It is personal, unique and always convincing.

Word of mouth hardly demands anything from us. It works hand in hand with our values. All it requires is for us to give sessions, or to talk about what we do, to communicate our love and our wish to meet more people. It is based on us giving an excellent service and on people trusting us in return.

Five Tips While Using The Power of Word of Mouth

Here are 5 tips we collected in regard to word-of-mouth as one of the most powerful promotional resources.

  1. Remember that your profession is based on your ability to relate to the uniqueness of people. Remember that, when you invite people to recommend you, or to come to you for sessions. Communicate to each person individually, in a way that is fitting to who they are.
  2. Take time to think and write a list of all the people that you know, ranging from your current life and from past times. These people are often a resource for a great beginning. You can call them or write to them declaring that you have started a new profession. Engage them or invite them or their friends to your activities. Be attentive to write personal notes to each of them, to relate to them personally just as you would do in any of your sessions.
  3. When you work with clients, you can remind them once in a while that if they know of other people that can benefit from what you do, you would love them to recommend you. Mention that you have more time to see more clients, or that you have added another day in your schedule, or that you just resigned from your other job to make sure you have more time for clients. Clearly mention only what is true for you, but don’t be shy to share it with them.
  4. Involve your clients in projects you are interested in, or are part of. If, for example, you decide to work specifically with artists, mention this to your clients. You never know who can open the right doors for you.
  5. And maybe the most important – whenever someone refers other people to you, whether it is a client or a friend, say thank you, and share your appreciation.

The Great Feeling of Being Recommended

Remember the transformative effect that sessions have had on your life. Remember that offering this opportunity to others, is giving them a gift, something they will surely benefit from. To know that our business is based on satisfied people, and people who trust us enough to recommend us to others, is a beautiful feeling and a great base for a business.
