When There’s No Longer Room for Excuses

Karoline Pfeiffer is a newly graduated Pantarei Approach practitioner from our Panther Ray class. You may recognize her from one of our videos earlier on in Panther Ray training The Student Experience: Making Connections & Being Ourselves.

Along with many of our other students, graduation was another milestone in her life changing journey of learning a new profession. In taking time to reflect, Karoline has been able to celebrate achieving a dream she has held since childhood and the freedom that comes with no longer having to search for excuses in her life’s journey. She recently shared these thoughts publicly as her Pantarei training came to an end and we thank her for sharing them with us and now you!

“There are moments when rules are meant to be broken; when bursting out of context is the sole way to see with new eyes. There are fences built only to be torn down. The slats look solid, but no one drove the nails in tight. There are barricades around the heart asking to be breached. Sooner or later we all run out of excuses for staying small and safe.”

– Danna Faulds

Since I was 7 years old, I have been convinced about the healing power of touch. I actually earned my first real money through touch – gently and lovingly touching and caressing members of my family – 10 Pfennig for 1 minute of touching; 20 Pfennig for touching and rubbing the legs (because they were sooo long). I dreamt of opening a “Kraulschule“ (touching/fondling school) where I could teach people how to connect with another person on a non-verbal level.

It has taken me almost 30 years to go back to this childhood dream, always deterred by other things or excuses. But then I discovered the chance to be educated in somatic bodywork. The dream had become so big that I felt deeply sure that there was no alternative, other than to follow the signs which were calling me. I had no idea where this path would lead me when starting the Pantarei Approach a year and a half ago, and even today, I have no idea where it will lead me in future.

I am so thankful though, for what I’ve learned during this period of time. I am so thankful for being guided by my passionate teachers Vered and Claudia, and I am so thankful for having met a bunch of awesome and powerful class mates. Together we went through a life changing process – we shared our stories and experiences, we dropped layers of hidden emotions, we expressed our anger and sadness, we verbalized our struggles and fears, we revealed our vulnerability, we got rid of old patterns, we empowered each other in our strength, we embodied our dreams and manifested our wishes. We touched, we moved, we danced, we joked, we laughed and we cried – alone and together – and oh yes, a lot of tears have flowed. Tears of love and joy as well as of pain and desperation. Tears which needed their space, which cleansed our hearts and relieved the tensions in our bodies.

From today onwards, we will share our learnings in all directions. I want to repeat these lines from above that Danna Faulds has written, especially with you and my future clients; to empower, inspire and motivate – “sooner or later we all run out of excuses for staying small and safe”.

Karoline has a Facebook group – Somaphilia || Somatic Bodywork with Karoline Pfeiffer, where she shares her journey of learning. If you are interested, you are more than welcome to join her group.
