Flow – Q & A: Agustina Perez Olivera

Each time we are willing to be touched by what makes another person unique, we also experience what makes us unique. It is our uniqueness that defines us as individuals and helps us to navigate our way forward to live the lives we want. 

As part of a regular series, we are asking people we know, people we have discovered and people we are inspired by, to share with us some insights into their life, their work and what uniqueness means to them. 

Tell us about yourself and what you do.

My name is Agustina and I am from Argentina, but have been living and travelling around the world for the past 3 and a half years. After living in Paris, California, Colorado and Sydney, I am now based in Melbourne Australia. I am a fashion designer and I work in styling and producing visual content for unique and innovative small to medium businesses. I am currently studying my
Masters in Fashion Entrepreneurship.

Why do you do this profession?

I have always been passionate about visual design and I love the creative process involved with coming up with new ideas. The challenge of coming up with combinations of different things in a way that is original and alluring is exciting and I like finding new outlets for the things that inspire me. I love finding ways to embrace the beautiful side of every single thing.

What does uniqueness mean to you?

Uniqueness for me means finding what truly moves you and trusting your feelings to discover that. Knowing yourself well means knowing your strengths and then you can achieve whatever you put your heart and mind into. I believe that being true to your uniqueness is the best possible way to recognise and know yourself and then you are better able to recognise and value the uniqueness in everyone else.
