When invited as a practitioner to accompany our clients through the times of pregnancy and giving birth, our usual ‘setting’ of how we work with a client changes. With our touch we are able to affect not only one person directly but two! We instantly become a part of the process – the miracle of life with all of its beauty and simplicity, but also its complications, fears and worries. For the practitioner it can feel as if we need to learn anew how to read the signs of the body that is so rapidly changing and what it wants to communicate to us. How and where to touch, how much pressure to use, and how to guide the session and process so that it maintains the beneficial level of intensity, are all clearly on our minds.
This three day workshop will look at these questions and other issues that arise when working with pregnant women. Furthermore, we will address how to support our clients through this life changing process at every step of the way.
- We will look at the decision making process around getting pregnant, in vitro fertilisation, miscarriage and other processes that allow this wish to become true. We will discuss how we as practitioners can be a great asset to the woman and her family as they go through this process.
- We will look at the time of pregnancy and giving birth and the unique situation where we touch two people at once. We will explore how we can connect the woman to herself and her own strength, as well to that of her baby and their surroundings.
- We will look at the time after the birth, how to find a way back to ourselves, how to recover from giving birth and how to embrace once more the changes that happen in the woman’s life.
This three day workshop aims to leave the practitioner with more clarity and confidence to accompany women and their families on this journey, to make it their own unique and beautiful journey.
