Injuries, operations, or illnesses can all be considered under the term ‘physical trauma’. Although these traumatic events took place in the past of our clients, they might still affect every single day of their life in the present. It may have been an injury that led to physical limitation, an operation that had complications, or resulted in a lack of sensation, or an illness that weakened the person’s spirit or changed their lifestyle and their ability to function.

Besides the physical effect of those past physical traumas, there are also great emotional impacts that our clients might still be dealing with – a lack of motivation, fears, disappointments, a lack of trust amongst others. A big part of our job as practitioners will be to find with them ways to access their own strength, confidence, trust and ability; access that will enable them to achieve greater health for themselves into the future.

As practitioners, our main strength is our ability to listen and to ask questions – both verbally and directly through the body of our clients. Along with whatever medical help our clients received in the past, we also know that part of their healing came from their own inner wisdom and strength – their own will to be alive and to recover. These are great powers we try to access to complete the process of recovery, to reunite them with more of themselves and to turn what has been weaknesses into strengths.

If you have a client who has suffered from a physical trauma that still affects them today, and you would like to invite them to be a demonstrator in the course, you are welcome to write to Claudia and let her know.

In this course we will:

  • Improve our capacity to listen to our clients, in order to decide what’s most important to focus on in the process
  • Gain more clarity on how to refer to emotions and use them in this particular situation
  • Explore the different options around how to reconnect our clients with themselves, their condition and whatever would be useful to allow them to live better with their condition
  • Train in how to refer to the past of our clients and use it to strengthen the client’s capacity to deal with their situation
  • Explore how to teach your clients to trust themselves and their own abilities to get better

Find the best balance between following your instincts while having a strategy and a plan for management
